When choosing an ERP system, businesses have plenty to consider. Functionality, integrations, reporting, cost and scalability can all influence the decision. But there is another important question to answer: where should your ERP system be hosted?

We want to make sure our customers understand what this change means, when it may affect them, and what to look out for.

What is changing?

From 1 October 2026, Microsoft is introducing a 5% price increase on eligible CSP software subscriptions with an annual-term commitment and monthly billing.

This includes products such as SQL Server, Windows Server, Client Access Licences and System Center.

This is a Microsoft pricing change, not an increase being introduced by etaC Solutions.

Will my subscription price increase on 1 October?

Not necessarily. Although the new pricing takes effect from 1 October 2026, this does not mean your subscription price will automatically increase on that date.

For existing subscriptions, the new pricing will apply when your current subscription commitment renews on or after 1 October 2026.

Depending on your renewal date, this could mean the increase does not affect you for several months, or even until next year.

For example, if your current 12-month subscription commitment does not renew until October 2027, the new pricing would generally apply at that renewal rather than immediately in October 2026.

Which subscriptions are affected?

The increase applies to eligible subscriptions that have an annual commitment with monthly billing.

It is important to distinguish between your billing frequency and your subscription commitment. Paying monthly does not necessarily mean you are on a month-to-month subscription.

Microsoft has confirmed that there is no change to subscriptions with annual billing or month-to-month commitments as part of this specific pricing update.

How can I check when the change might affect me?

Your current subscription commitment and renewal date should be shown on your Dynamics 365 (D365) invoices.

If you cannot find this information, or you are unsure when your subscription is due for renewal, please get in touch with the etaC Solutions team and we will be happy to help.
